7. Edit Your Wardrobe — and Pay Attention to Fabric
Two tips in one, because they go hand in hand.
First, clear out anything that doesn't make you feel your best. Doesn't fit? Go. Haven't worn it in a year? Time to pass it on. A good trick: turn everything in your wardrobe to face one direction. As you wear things, flip them around. After a few months, whatever is still facing the wrong way is telling you something.
Second, once you've made space, be intentional about what fills it. Natural fibres are worth every cent — they allow heat and moisture to pass through the fabric rather than sitting against your skin, which makes a real difference as we get older. Cotton and linen are brilliant in summer. Viscose is a lovely option too — it's a manmade fibre made from wood pulp, drapes beautifully, but just be aware it can shrink in the wash (steam it out).
Merino is in a category of its own. It regulates to your body temperature, meaning it's warm in the cold and surprisingly cool in the heat. Want more natural fibres?
