In between being tourists, we acquired new blisters pounding the pavement shopping. We shopped Broadway, Times Square, 5th Avenue, Nolita, SOHO & NOHO. My favourite area was Nolita in the Lower East. It's more spread out and you have to look hard to find the independent gems, but it's worth it. Here you can find original designs without the huge price tag. It was refreshing as I have definitely seen enough of Zara for the year!
The weather in New York was hot and nowhere near Autumn. Great news... New York people wore the summer trends we already have in store and on the way. Florals, crop tops worn with high waisted pants or skirts, lots of denim, sports luxe or perhaps everyone was just on their way to the gym! One unusual fashion accessory was the... dog. Everyone had one and they were allowed in shops. Actually as I'm writing this one is sitting across from me in the plane. Odd.

TOP EATS
On our last night we came across a wee beauty. This Thai restaurant in Lower East Village, it was by far the cheapest meal we had, plus was BYO. Affordable with homemade and fresh flavours is something I recommend.
We tried a few times to get into this Korean delight. It proved to be worth the wait. Its menu is designed to share. After sampling 5 tasty dishes we were chocka.
New York had soooo many different options and great foody places I even found a place called 'do not tell'. To get in you have to go through a neighbouring tenant and enter through a hidden door disguised as a telephone box!

IT'S OVER, but has just begun
After 2 short weeks we had to say goodbye to our trip. I'm inspired more than ever, to bring the best fashion to New Zealand and ensure we are at the top of our game in Timaru and Oamaru. I have lots of ideas and can't wait to see the Winter 16 ranges.
